Youth Interaction, Toddler Storytime Kit Prep, and Family Fun Night

I spent a little time with the teen volunteers today.  We made some very hungry caterpillars together.  After everyone finished their crafts, we packed up table so that one of the teens could have his break.

Spent the rest of the afternoon before Family Fun Night working on a flannel board story that I hope to do next month.  I traced the patterns and cut them out.  Next week I will color them.

Later in the evening I helped with setting up the Family Fun Night. The program title for FFN this week was “Weefolk and Whatnot.”  The teen volunteer and I helped my supervisor with a puppet show adapted from “Three Billy Goats Gruff.”  I was tiniest Billy Goat Gruff.  I didn’t do the voice for the puppet show but just the movements for the mouth and body.  My supervisor never ceases to amaze me with her storytelling skills.  She really made the story enjoyable.

After the puppet show and some mores stories, we did some open crafts.  There were three crafts for everyone to try.  Everyone tried making a troll face, fairy, and toadstool.
